Eligible applicants may receive a $500 childcare grant to help offset childcare expenses while attending the meeting. In 2026, 10 grants will be awarded to support postdoctoral researchers and early-career investigators with caregiving responsibilities.

Student volunteers are essential to the success of the BMES Annual Meeting and help create a positive experience for attendees.
Volunteers must initially register at the full $425 student rate. After completing 8–10 hours of assigned volunteer work, they will receive a $275 reimbursement, reducing their registration cost to $150.
Shift times, lengths, and responsibilities vary based on conference needs. We will try to avoid disclosed presentation conflicts, but flexibility is strongly encouraged. Because positions are limited, students with broader availability are more likely to be selected.
